Uitzicht Residential Island
Buyers didn't just see their new home. They walked through it.
Uitzicht is a new residential island near Rotterdam, with three house types set between water and green space.
Thomas van der Wel of Kreatif Klub brought the project to Darkroom. The brief: present the whole island, from the masterplan to each house type, in a way buyers could explore on their own.

THE EXECUTION
20 photorealistic renderings. Aerials place the masterplan in its setting, while exterior and interior views present the island's four house types one by one, from the street and from inside.

WHAT IT DID
The short film was our first to combine CGI with hand-drawn animation. The drawn layer adds a character that photorealism alone does not carry, and gave Uitzicht an identity of its own in its marketing.

WHY THIS MATTERS
A residential island is sold as a way of living, not as a single building. Buyers decide at three scales: the neighborhood, the house type and the room they will live in. The UE5 walk-through leads from the front door into every room in real time, and the 360 panoramas open up the neighborhood from ground level, so each scale can be experienced before anything is built.
